O Mansion

Last night I went to a lovely dinner party with a few homies from work: shout out Andrei, Martin, Stella, Kathryn, and Jenna! The restaurant/amusement house is called the O Mansion. Apparently its so cool that you have trouble knowing about it and finding it. Even though it was super close by and near Dupont Circle, we had no idea it was there. But, luckily you read my blog and I can tell you EXACTLY where it is. See, aren't you glad you read my post?...you must read more!!

Okay, so maybe it's not that hard to find considering you can google it and see exactly where it is. But I SWEAR I kept hearing people say "I had no clue this place was here". And it really is just a collection of beautiful brownstones connected with a tiny sign outside, so I did kind of help. The place was awesome and I'm totally taking my mommy there. Every floor was crazy decorated, magical, and beautiful. See picture below of amazing, magical, beautiful ladies modeling the newest hat fashions out of DC!

The Internet and Me....A Blossoming Relationship

Ok, so it's been months since I made a post. Which doesn't really matter since the only followers I have is myself and a very good high school friend who is following me out of pity. Shout out to Katherine!! But I have a dream and must persevere!!

So, I was thinking this weekend of how amazing it is that we have the internet today. I can write and basically publish my thoughts free of charge! I can have ideas and share them with a whole community of people. I'm sure almost everyone else has already made this realization and I think I logically was already aware of this, but the full impact had not reached me yet. I don't know what will become of me publishing randomness...but you never know....something unexpected might come of it and at the very least, its pretty awesome that at least someone else will see it.

Really awesome book I'm reading:

My Papa

The standard of all men I encounter is my grandpa, i.e. Papa. This is a tough act to follow. All of the Chuck Norris jokes don't compare. Him and my grandma have the cutest love story EVER. Which I will eventually share. Like, their love story beats all love stories to a PULP!!. AND Him and his 4 brothers (H.L, Jim, Bob, and Joe) beat up everyone in Pelzer, SC at some point. They were so bad ass. Like, there is a picture of H.L from the war with his shirt open, dog tags showing, smoking a cigarette, with a huge rifle in one hand. That's how cool they are. But Papa's like really sensitive too and you know that even though he's cussing you out and saying things like "damn girl, you got shit for brains?", he's saying it because he really cares and loves you. NO JOKE. He's kind of my hero and he's the best replacement dad ever. He had a fall last week and broke his elbow, so he's in the rehab part of the hospital. He's also had mini strokes since last August, and he's so cool that just like last year after his first strokes, I'm sure he is getting up at like 5am, getting completely dressed (slacks, shoes, the whole bit) and sitting in a chair next to his bed in the hospital. You would never guess he was a patient there. LOVE MY PAPA!!

Project Get My Hair Back

Ya'll, what happened?? My hair was once so curly, long, and vibrant. People and magazines then taught me that I need to straighten my hair so that I can look like everyone else. What a mistake! I haven't straightened it in a month and I'm really going to try not to straighten it EVER EVER EVER again!! I went to a new hairdresser in DC and for the umpteenth time I told the lady that I wanted BIG! curly hair. Well, someone finally listened to me. I left looking a little like Diana Ross and for once felt fulfilled and restored. As Noel says, the higher the hair, the closer to GOD....Amen!!

Bling Bling

So, my new hobby has become checking out a certain, undisclosed police confiscation website. I'm about to bid on a citrine and diamond ring that is worth $1K...and is going for currently $63. OMG. I got a bling bling tennis bracelet/watch for $40 yesterday, and there are some diamond and citrine earrings that I think I'll bid on tomorrow. I can't wait to have a meeting with SOI's CFO and Controller and show off my ghetto fab gems. Hey ya'll! I can live in Chevy Chase too!

People are stupid...whilst writing this blog...my citrine and diamond ring went up to $99. Don't they know they are supposed to wait to the last minute to start bidding???

I Totally Want to do Another Post

Okay, so this is turning out to be fun. I see my first post, my new layout, my cute cut-out of my home church, Lickville, in South Carolina and it's just so cool to see something I've created. I'm always kind of in awe and overly impressed with really simple things. Everyone has a blog, but I think the fact that I've created a post is equivalent to getting a promotion at work. I feel like I've joined in on the cool, internet savvy crowd. "You have a blog? OMG, I have a blog too." Which reminds me....

I got my first driver's license when I was 21. I had taken two drivers ed classes, I had gone through oh about 5 permits, and I had been practicing for over 5 years. I took it very seriously. My first permit test, I scored 100%. The day I miracously passed the drivers test, I felt better than the day I graduated from college. I know, it doesn't make any sense.
Dream car shown above!!

End of blog posting #2....score!!

OMG My Very First Post

What shall it be??

Should I tell all ya'll about me?? Or should I give my blog a theme? Everyone seems to have a theme, but the problem with me is that I'm a chameleon. I am a mix of preppy, goth, and hootchie. Sometimes I feel like a princess and sometimes I feel like Shaqueefa, fierce ghetto momma. So, my blog will just have to be like me, a big ole hot mess.
